Signal Mountain Review is an online literary magazine that publishes poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and hybrid work that reflects on and helps us to understand what it means to be human. We are pen to all genres and types of literary writing, but have a special interest in that which helps to illuminate who we are, how we got here, and who we could be.
We are affiliated with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. We publish new issues twice a year, in the Fall and Spring. Our reading periods are from August 15th to November 15th for the Winter Issue, and November 15th to February 15th for the Summer Issue.
We particularly encourage writers from underrepresented communities to submit. A key strength of UTC is our diverse student population, and we are committed to keeping that diversity in our journal. If you discover any barriers to submission, please let us know. We are working diligently to ensure that there are never submission fees, inaccessible submission systems, or other barriers to participation… but we’re also new to this.
